Overview
Ilmor has previously offered the opportunity of an industrial placement to engineering undergraduates, typically 9-12 months in duration. We are currently assessing the option of employing a student from autumn 2009 through to the summer of 2010. We do not offer summer internships of just 2-3 months.
What experience does the placement offer?
You will be involved in real projects and get experience across a number of different departments. You will have the opportunity of experiencing many of the skills required in the design, development and manufacture of engines. You will spend time working within most or all of the following departments; design and development, engine testing, manufacture, inspection and quality assurance, production and manufacturing engineering, engine assembly, procurement and finance. The amount of time spent in each of these areas will be driven by the needs of the business.
Requirements/qualifications
To apply you must have good A level (or equivalent) grades and be expecting an upper second class honours degree or better, in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a similar subject. You will be given on-the-job training or external training for specific functions.

You will be paid a competitive salary and receive 30 days holiday a year (pro-rata). The scheme will give you the opportunity to show Ilmor what you are capable of and may lead to the promise of a permanent job offer after your graduation.
