Ilmor Engineering Ltd has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification through TUV UK, demonstrating our longstanding commitment to the quality of Ilmor’s products and customer satisfaction.
ISO 9001:2008 is a globally recognised standard that provides assurance about the ability of a company to satisfy quality requirements and to enhance customer satisfaction in supplier-customer relationships. Ilmor’s certification demonstrates adherence to documented quality processes and procedures that ensure ongoing improvements in the design, development, production and support of racing engines and other production applications requiring high precision engineering.
The certification process began in early 2009 with the creation of a Quality Manual which summarises Ilmor’s Quality Management System. A small group of employees were trained as internal auditors and conducted audits to verify the company performed as specified in our documentation. In June TUV UK carried out our Stage 1 audit to assess the QMS documentation and in August conducted the Stage 2 audit to review Ilmor’s records. With only minor amendments required, Ilmor has successfully satisfied all the requirements of the standard.
“Ilmor have successfully produced racing engines for over 25 years. Our involvement and record of 4 years without a race failure in the IndyCar series is testimony to the quality of our products. Achieving ISO 9001:2008 inherently records this quality and our ability to continuously improve in any project we undertake. We look forward to maintaining and attracting new customers in a diverse range of high precision engineering sectors, where ISO 9001:2008 is a
key requirement for providing confidence in our abilities and systems.”
