Ilmor Hornet UAV Engine
Borrowing design innovations and expertise developed for race engines, Ilmor has created the Hornet UAV engine. The Hornet fits into a 440mm diameter fuselage with an installed weight of just 70 kg.

Hornet Engine Description
3 cylinder, 12 valve DOHC engine. Full engine management with fuel injection and individual cylinder coil ignition system. Dry sump lubrication system with external 3,5 liter oil tank and integrated water/oil heat exchanger.
Engine management has automatic control of fuelling and ignition timing from -10ºC to +80ºC, with barometric control from 50 - 120kPa (20000ft /600m assuming ISA conditions).
Integrated gearbox and wet clutch assembly with step down ratio of 2,393 allowing maximum propeller speeds of 4400rpm.
