At Ilmor, we continuously invest in the latest CNC technology.
Our current plant hardware allows simultaneous 5-axis precision manufacturing of parts up to Ø1050 x H1000 on a range of milling and turning CNC work centers.

Extensive Manufacturing

Facility

Ilmor has an extensive manufacturing facility that produces components for the Aerospace (AS9100 certified), Motorsport and OEM sector. We are equipped to manufacture both palletised production runs and low volume prototype parts with short product lead times.

We also produce components from a diverse material spectrum and form spanning polymers, aluminium, steels, titanium and inconel alloys in either billet or castings form.  

We have extensive off line programming and simulation software to ensure rapid prototyping of components.

5 Axis Milling

The Machine shop produces high quality precision engine components ranging from oil pumps to cylinder heads and blocks. We machine castings and solid billet work in materials from aluminium through to stainless steel. The machine shop comprises of seven 5-Axis machines giving us the ability to machine from small intricate parts through to large engine assemblies.

CNC Turning / Mill-Turn

The turning department comprises of a large CNC lathe with driven tools and a large CNC mill-turn, both with bar feed capability for up to 65mm in diameter which enables unmanned running. The versatility of these machines allows for large volumes of components, including those involving complexities as well as exotic materials, to be machined in minimum set ups, which drives reduced costs.

Manual & Surface Grinding

The manual department consists of a large manual Colchester lathe, a small manual Cyclematic lathe, a NEF Semi-CNC lathe, a Bridgeport milling machine and a medium surface grinder. The range of machines allows us to machine less complex parts and is a great place to teach our upcoming apprentices.

Inspection / Quality Control

We can inspect components and measure the profiles of components with great accuracy. We are able to achieve a measuring range of up to X=1200, Y=1500, Z=1000.
