We are looking for an Inspection / Calibration Engineer to join our business on a full-time, on-site basis.
As part of the manufacturing team at Ilmor, you will be working on exciting new racing and road car projects with some of the biggest manufacturers and teams in the world.
You will have good manual inspection capability and ideally be able to operate a CMM for loading and unloading of components (no programming)
Additionally, you will be required to use a laser scanning arm for casting and simple component verification.

You will also be required to manage the gauge calibration system, ensuring all equipment is available and maintained ready for use. Currently we subcontract the calibration to a third party.
As the manual inspector it will be your responsibility to create inspection instruction sheets for the various components and maintain records of results for internally manufactured parts and purchased parts, so good computer skills would be an advantage.

What is the role:
To deliver production-ready, cost-effective manufacturing solutions that meet specified product quality and timeframe requirements.
This will require you to:
• Define suitable methods of manufacture.

You should be able to demonstrate:
• Extensive experience of programming CAD (CATIA V5) / CAM (HyperMill / VERICUT) including code generation for complex simultaneous 5-axis components. Experience of programming for turning and mill-turn machine centres beneficial.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Manufacturing, preferably Automotive / Aerospace/motorsport.
• Familiarity with components machined from solid or castings in multi-Op setups (e.g. Cam Covers, Sumps, Engine Blocks and Cylinder Heads).

• Experience in managing and programming EFACS in a similar complex manufacturing environment
