Josef Newgarden won back-to-back Indianapolis 500 races, (22 years since Helio Castroneves in 2001 and 2002), driving a Chevrolet-powered car. The race was enthralling from start to finish with three yellow cautions within the first 30 laps to some fantastic overtaking by Josef on the last lap to take victory. Congratulations also to Arrow McLaren who finished 2nd and 4th with Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi.
Chevrolet cars highlighted their power with 7 drivers finishing within the top 10.
Throughout the whole 500-mile race with 16 cars we experienced no engine issues!
With Josef's success, Ilmor's count of Indianapolis 500 triumphs now stands at 23.
